Design Challenge

For an entertainment area within VidantaWorld in Mexico, Bob’s Space Racers Inc. was tasked with designing and creating an immersive, interactive player experience for a series of themed games. The goal was to develop environments that seamlessly blend cutting-edge technology, detailed scenic design, and engaging gameplay, offering visitors a fully immersive adventure. By integrating vibrant, thematic elements into each game, the design aimed to transport players into dynamic, storytelling-driven settings, enhancing both the entertainment value and the overall atmosphere of the attraction. The project focused on creating a cohesive experience that would captivate audiences of all ages, ensuring lasting enjoyment and engagement within this premier entertainment destination.

This project was installed in September of 2022.

Design Narrative

The tree trunks surrounding the Roll-A-Ball game serve as the foundation for the overhanging canopy, designed to evoke the lush rainforest habitat of the animal characters, which are native to tropical environments.

The cave-like stalactites framing the Can Smash game are carefully crafted to simulate the natural formation of cave interiors, enhancing the immersive experience and transporting players into a captivating underground setting.

The trees encircling the Whac-A-Mole game help establish a thematic environment, providing a natural backdrop for the mushrooms, which serve as the focal point of the game, further enriching the player’s engagement with the experience.

Outcome

For the final installation at VidantaWorld in Mexico, the bordering elements were meticulously designed to imitate trees and cave rocks, enhancing the overall atmosphere and creating a more immersive environment for players. These carefully crafted features were strategically incorporated to blend seamlessly with the theme, elevating the experience by making each individual game feel like an integral part of the natural surroundings. By combining artistic design with a strong focus on environmental storytelling, the installation effectively transports players into a captivating, adventure-filled world.
