A TRIO OF IMPOSTERS

Palm Pals Advertising Campaign

Design Challenge

The goal behind the Imposter Trio advertisement campaign for Palm Pals was to create
a cohesive series of three ads that, while distinct, are interconnected by a central
theme.

Design Narrative

The campaign showcases Palm Pals in unexpected environments where they seamlessly blend in with their surroundings, highlighting the product’s versatility and appeal. Palm Pals are small, soft plush toys that fit comfortably in the palm of a hand, designed for individuals who appreciate life’s simple joys—whether they are children who enjoy playing with stuffed animals or adults who want to add a playful touch to their decor, such as on a desk, car dashboard, or elsewhere.

Outcome

The campaign effectively highlights the variety offered by Palm Pals, emphasizing the wide selection available to ensure that every customer will find one that resonates with them. The tone of the campaign is lighthearted and fun, mirroring the playful nature of the product itself. It is designed to engage children, encouraging them to play a game of “I Spy” and prompting them to ask their parents for a Palm Pal. For adults, the ads aim to spark humor and appeal to their sense of whimsy, inspiring them to consider adding a Palm Pal to their own collection. The phrase “One of these things is not like the other” cleverly plays on the visual difference in the images, while also suggesting that Palm Pals stand apart from other plush toys on the market, offering a unique and charming alternative.
